Learning to Feed our Cows

While we are waiting for all the necessities like electricity, and air conditioning to be completed in the house, we have been learning to feed our cows. Between my brother, my nephew, and myself we’ve been coming out every morning to make sure the cows are getting enough to eat. We have been in the middle of a drought here in Northeast Texas. So we are having to supplement the cows grass with Hay and Feed(the grass was super green when we first closed on the land, but now it’s so dry and crunchy. Thankfully it has started to rain a lot more in the past few days.

My nephew Tyler is doing so good with learning to feed the cows. I am going to find a way to help with feeding them soon, because I can only DRAG those bags, they are so heavy!

We still have another 40 days or so to move on to the property! Tyler and I drive about 30 mins away, and my brother almost an hour away to make sure the cows get their feed. (My husband Darius, can’t really participate right now, but once we are all moved in we will involve him as much as we can!)

The cows are really warming up to us, and are doing so many funny things! It is obvious who my favorite is right now! (Beat It, has so much personality). My two girls are still so shy, and won’t come anywhere near us! I’ll get them though!
